ICP – Inductively Coupled Plasma

ICP – Inductively Coupled Plasma is a spectrophotometric method to perform chemical analysis of metals and alloys in the engineering sector.

The test specimen is dissolved in a solution and then analysed in ICP.

The most common use of this test method is for analysing small specimens which cannot be analysed on OES. Examples:

Analysis of drillings/burr sample collected from a live pipeline, tiny residues from failed parts as part of the failure investigations, residual metallic filings in the engine oil.
