Our Commitment

We aim to eliminate or minimise risks so far as reasonably practicable. Everyone at LMATS is empowered to stop work if a task is unsafe, raise hazards, and take positive action.

  • Safe and healthy workplaces across all branches
  • Compliance with WHS, Environmental and Quality legislation and standards
  • Continuous improvement through audits, inspections, and reviews
  • Promoting a culture of openness, accountability, and respect

How We Care for Our People

  • Hazard Identification & Job Safety Analysis (JSA) / Take 5 – every task begins with a pause to plan, identify hazards and apply controls.
  • Training and Induction – all staff receive safety inductions, regular toolbox talks, and ongoing training tailored to their roles.
  • Incident Reporting – all incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions are reported and investigated to ensure lessons are learned.
  • Wellbeing and Support – return-to-work programs, first aid coverage, and external counselling services are available.

MechanicalTesting

Working Safely, Every Day

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – provided where required, but always treated as the last line of defence.
  • High-Risk Work – such as forklifts, scaffolds and welding, is performed only by licensed, competent personnel with Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • Chemical Safety – safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in line with our Chemical Management Procedure.
  • Drug and Alcohol Policy – supported by random testing to maintain a safe and drug-free workplace.

Emergency and Preparedness

LMATS has clear procedures for evacuation and non-evacuation emergencies:

  • Evacuation – raise the alarm, follow site plans, and account for all personnel.
  • Non-Evacuation – isolate equipment, administer first aid, and call 000 when needed.
  • First Aid – kits are available at all sites and in vehicles, with trained personnel on hand.

Protecting Our Environment

We recognise our responsibility to the communities and environments we work in:

  • Preventing pollution and minimising waste
  • Managing noise, emissions, and water responsibly
  • Training employees to identify and report environmental hazards
  • Achieving zero reportable environmental incidents
